The Science behind HAIR FREE
It has taken researchers, based in Japan, three and a half years to develop GSF 2:0 (Growth Shield Factor 2:0) which enables HAIR FREE to modify the growing behaviour of hair roots resulting in long-term cessation (ending) of hair growth. This discovery, together with our unique trans-dermal delivery technique (Nano-enhanced transportation technology*), enables HAIR FREE to be efficiently delivered to the hair root.
Cell division is responsible for hair growth; new cells push the hair forward while a new hair is added to the root. When GSF 2:0 is introduced cell division is slowed down, shrinking and individually withering the root, until there is no more space for cell division (no new hair follicle). By bio-engineering the cells in the matrix bulb of the hair root to replicate the cell activity found at the onset of male pattern baldness, scientists have succeeded in the long-term cessation of hair growth.
HAIR FREE was one of the first to develop ‘nutrient engineering’ techniques which restrict the flow of nutrients to the matrix bulb. This results in the miniaturisation of the hair root and ultimately restricts the growth of new hair.
* NANO – ENHANCED TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGY: Technology used to manipulate the molecular structure of the active ingredients, breaking it down so fine that it is able to penetrate the desired area for a period of 8 hours with the aid of TLR (time controlled release).
THE HAIR GROWTH CYCLE AND HAIR FREE
The hair bulb is most susceptible to treatment during the Anagen (Growing) phase of hair growth since HAIR FREE uses the hair shaft to efficiently deliver the Growth Shield Factor 2:0 (GSF 2:0) to the hair bulb. Therefore, hair that is in the Catagen (Transitional) or Telogen (Resting) phase will have little to no response.
The primary factors that influence the hair growth cycle are age (puberty/menopause), ethnicity, medication, hormone levels and body site.
Differences may be found in the length, coarseness (and colour) of body hair; the differences are most apparent when comparing one site with another, but also exist within a single given site. The number of visible hairs depends on the number of hairs in their Anagen (Growing) phase. The longer the Anagen phase lasts, the longer the hair can get. This is why the hair on the scalp grows much longer than the hairs on other parts of the body.

While it is not possible to determine the exact treatment duration guaranteed to work for each patient, the following table can be used as a guide for the various body sites based on 9 year patient trial findings. Therefore, the following estimated durations can be expected when using HAIR FREE (in conjunction with the Soothing Aftercare Gel) if applied correctly once a week:
Always remember using the Soothing Aftercare Gel (with Growth Inhibitor) on a daily basis reinforces the treatment enhancing the results.
During the course of your HAIR FREE treatment you should firstly notice a slowing of hair growth (this will vary depending on the area being treated) then a reduction in the density and thickness of the hairs followed by patches of lesser or no growth.
